- 225g Short grain rice
- 1 Small onion or half a big one
- 1 Ripe tomato
- 1 Piece of ginger
- 1 tbsp Tomato concentrate
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 1 tbsp Soya sauce
- 1 tbsp Mirin
Method
Method
- Use a scale or the measuring cup for the rice cooker and wash the rice at least 3 or 4 times, until the water runs clear
- Leave the rice to soak for at least half an hour
- Prepare the sauce by dissolving the tomato concentrate in the oil
- Add sake, mirin, soya sauce
- Grate the ginger with a microplane
- Cut the onion finely
- Mix everything to distribute the dressing on the onion
- Drain the rice well and place it in the bowl of the rice cooker
- Lay the dressing on top of the rice
- Add as much water as needed to get to the line for cooking 1 and a half cups of white rice*
- Once cooked, let the rice rest for at least 10 minutes in the rice cooker
- Chop the fresh tomato and add just before serving

Add your water only after adding the sauce over the rice, as the liquid already present in the sauce and the onion will complete the amount of water required for cooking
